Last week Ordrum’s Erik Mattsson led a session on the theme “Communication in the Leadership Role” as part of Uppsala University’s program Leading and Developing in Academia, arranged by the Career and Leadership Development Centre.
The program brings together academic leaders from across the university to explore key aspects of leadership in research and education — from understanding university finances (with Maria Andersson), and managing conflicts (with Thomas Jordan), to leading on equal terms (with Paul Bengtsson) and sustainable working habits (with Åsa Burman).
Erik’s session focuses on the core of it all: communication. Effective leadership depends on our ability to explain, motivate, engage and empower others. We will work practically with three crucial dimensions:
– Conducting meaningful conversations
– Leading productive meetings
– Delivering impactful presentations
It’s a privilege to contribute to this thoughtful and well-designed program led by Rabbe Hedengren and Anna Westin, supporting those who lead and develop the academia.
